Organizations, institutions, and individuals seeking to promote more inclusive environments can join a meaningful conversation on the history of inclusivity and the outdoors at Field Inclusive’s (FI) Anniversary webinar to celebrate the day our organization was founded on Saturday, August 23 beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern.
FI is thrilled to welcome Dr. Carolyn Finney—cultural geographer, storyteller, and author of Black Faces, White Spaces: Reimagining the Relationship of African Americans to the Great Outdoors — as our 3 year anniversary speaker. The Sierra Club Foundation ($2000), Tangled Bank Conservation ($500), and The Land at Hawkins Loop ($250), are helping to sponsor the event this year.

Finney brings powerful insights on race, land, and belonging, drawing from her background in the arts, global travel, and academia. This conversation, moderated this year by FI CEO Dr. Murry Burgess, will focus on her work which challenges us to reimagine a just, green, and inclusive future in the outdoors and beyond.
“We are beyond thrilled to have Dr. Finney as our speaker for this year’s anniversary webinar in celebration of two years since our organization was founded,” says Lauren D. Pharr, Field Inclusive co-founder and CFO. “Finney is the prefect representation of a ground-breaker on inclusivity, and she will bring a strong voice and story to support FI’s mission and vision.”
Field Inclusive strives to bring strong speakers and individuals into this space to discuss the history of inequities when it comes to the participation of minorities in the outdoors with the goal of helping others to understand why organizations like Field Inclusive are important. Don’t miss this inspiring conversation as we celebrate the founding of Field Inclusive and continue our commitment to equity and access in natural spaces.
Online registration for this one-hour webinar is now open. Participants will be able to log into the webinar and view it on their computers or mobile devices using the registration link.
