Science doesn’t happen in isolation. Every research project is shaped by mentorship, collaboration, accessibility, community partnerships, diverse perspectives, and the people behind the work. FI Week celebrates both the science and the journey.

The Field Inclusive Research Showcase is a week-long virtual event celebrating outstanding field science and the people behind it. Researchers from across the natural sciences will share their work while highlighting the mentorship, collaboration, accessibility, and community partnerships that make scientific discovery possible.

Whether you’re a student, researcher, educator, conservation practitioner, or simply passionate about the outdoors, FI Week is designed to inspire learning, foster connections, and showcase exciting work happening across the field sciences.

REGISTER FOR FI WEEK 2027

Registration TypeCost
Students$10
Professionals$20

Need financial assistance? We believe the outdoors and science are for everyone. Financial hardship registration will be available upon request.

Why Is There a Registration Fee?

This year, Field Inclusive is introducing a small registration fee for FI Week to help make the event more sustainable while continuing to invest in the people and resources that make it possible.

Registration helps support presenter honoraria, event technology and accessibility, attendee resources, and the behind-the-scenes work required to organize and host a week-long virtual event.

We also want FI Week to remain financially accessible. Registration is $10 for students and $20 for professionals, and financial assistance is available for anyone for whom the registration cost would be a barrier.

Your registration doesn’t just provide access to FI Week, it helps Field Inclusive continue creating opportunities to share research, build community, and support a safer and more inclusive future for fieldwork.

ABOUT THE RESEARCH SHOWCASE

Each session features researchers working across the field sciences and creates space to learn not only about their science, but also about the experiences, people, and partnerships behind the work.

Each presentation includes:

20-minute conference-style research presentation

10-minute live audience Q&A

Presentations mirror those given at professional scientific conferences while remaining accessible to students, early-career professionals, and members of the public.
